Introducing CLASSICO Eyewear
For many of you who know us personally, we've been eagerly talking about introducing this brand for almost half a year. Our desire in curating other designers around Goodfight is to introduce people to brands that we feel represent something valuable in quality, cultural significance, or creativity that is also reflective of the values that we represent as a fashion label. When we first discovered CLASSICO we were stunned by the beauty of their designs, quality feel of the frames, and amazing fit on the face. Finding the right sunglasses can be extremely hard, but trying on their eyewear raised the new problem of wanting too many pairs.
CLASSICO pursues simplicity and the timeless spirit of returning to the basics. The brand—Italian for “classic”—was founded in 2012 in Taipei by two Taiwanese designers: Gary & Tom. The two met in the vintage Vespa subculture, bonding over a shared appreciation for old-school aesthetics and classic design. Gary was (and still is) a freelance photographer with a deep passion for vintage classics and antiques. a His family holds a legacy in eyewear manufacturing spanning over 40 years making glasses for luxury eyewear brands. After completing his military service, he leveraged his family's resources to begin manufacturing eyewear on an OEM basis for local designers, but over time the desire to create a brand of his own took root; thus, the concept for CLASSICO began to take shape in his mind. Tom works a designer specializing in brand identity, who also held a long fascination with handcrafted eyewear since childhood. He founded the brand with Gary with the aim of using the power of design to bring more beauty to the world around us.
We are very pleased to introduce CLASSICO with three acetate sunglasses, two Titanium optical frames, and a very special collaboration with Japanese eyewear master Yoshinori Hayakawa, alongside a few useful accessories. Available now in studio and online - stop by the store to try them on in person or talk to any of our staff for any questions.
